Martha's Vineyard Bank Charitable Foundation believes in giving back that makes a lasting impact, which is why we proudly support local students pursuing higher education. Since 2009, we have awarded almost half a million dollars in scholarships to students from Martha's Vineyard and Falmouth.

College Scholarships

The Martha's Vineyard Bank Charitable Foundation will grant six $12,000 college scholarships to current high school seniors. Four (4) awards will go to residents of Martha's Vineyard, and two (2) awards to residents of Falmouth.

Philip J. Norton, Jr. Scholarship

In honor of his dedication to public service, Martha's Vineyard Bank Charitable Foundation created the Philip J. Norton, Jr. Scholarship for a post-secondary student planning a career in public service. The 2025 one-year scholarship award is $12,500.

Philip J. Norton, Jr. was a founding member of the Vineyard Preservation Trust, served as a Dukes County Commissioner, founded and chaired the MV chapter of Ducks Unlimited, served as Chairman of the Board of Trustees for Martha's Vineyard Bank (and previously the Martha's Vineyard Co-Operative Bank), and was the Edgartown Moderator for 43 years. He was a longtime member of the Edgartown Golf Club and served for many years on the Board of Governors. Jeff was also an Honorary Member of the Vineyard Golf Club and The Boathouse & Field Club.
