Martha's Vineyard Bank Charitable Foundation is proud to award six college scholarships annually to high school seniors from Martha's Vineyard and Falmouth. In 2020, the six students each received a $12,000 college scholarship, payable $3,000 per year for four years with a grand total of $72,000 in scholarship money. In their applications, all students are asked to include a list of school and community activities, work experience, and career goals.
In the past eleven years, 51 students have been awarded a total of $285,000 in college scholarship money. We believe that exceptional students should be rewarded and that an investment in their future benefits our entire community.
"We are delighted to be able to help these exceptional students get closer to their goals and we applaud them for being flexible and graduating under very unusual circumstances in 2020," said Patti Leighton, Community Relations Director at Martha's Vineyard Bank Charitable Fund. "They have already faced a major life challenge and their success amid adversity points to a bright future ahead."
